College of the Canyons Students Recognized with Top Honors At FBLA-PBL National Leadership Conference.

Thanks to dedicated College of the Canyons professors, students have the opportunity to attend professional development opportunities like the FBLA-PBL National Leadership Conference in Chicago. More than 800 of America’s best and brightest college students traveled to Chicago to showcase their talents as future business leaders.  Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) held its National Leadership Conference on June 24-27.  Participants from across the United States attended this exciting conference to enhance their business skills, expand their networks, and participate in more than 55 business and business-related competitive events. Three COC students attended the conference and placed in the top ten in the nation in their categories.

- David Jingozian and Chanchol Krasaesin took sixth place in Global Analysis and Decision Making, which recognizes students who demonstrate knowledge of management, marketing, and economics of international business and present a case analysis to a panel of judges.

- David Jingozian and Chanchol Krasaesin also took eighth place in the category of Hospitality Management, which recognizes students who demonstrate knowledge of business principles utilized in the hotel, restaurant, and tourism industry in an interactive role-play situation with a panel of judges.

- Ellis Kim took ninth place in Client Service, which requires students to demonstrate skills in interacting with internal and external clients to provide an outstanding client service experience in an interactive role-play situation with a panel of judges.

In addition to the competitive events, students attended educational workshops, visited an information-packed exhibit hall and listened to motivational keynotes on a broad range of business and career development topics.  Students were accompanied by Desiree Lee-Perry and Bob Maxwell, COC faculty advisors.
